COURSE REVIEW
Our small course keeps players on their mettle because the hazards occur
frequently. The club has recently finished converting the greens from bent to 328.
Kyogle, lying at the heart of Summerland, is not only special for the
fact that it is the gateway to the rainforest, but also because with
its wide tree lined fairways, it has one of the prettiest golf courses
in the Northern Rivers District.
Kyogle's flat terrain, characterised by well kept fairways, offers
plenty to test even
the best of experienced golfers. Out of bounds areas along the
railway.line are also traps for new players and the long holes with low
pars are a challenge to long hitters, too. The greens are the subject
of praise from visitors.
ClUBHOUSE AMENITIES
The clubhouse is spacious and modern, offering comfortable surroundings in which to relax after a good
round. For those who want to/make a day of it, meals are available on Friday and Saturday nights.
WEEKLY COMPETITIONS/MAJOR EVENTS
Men play every Saturday of the year, and on the first and third
Thursday of each month, Veterans host an 18 hole stableford event. This
competition is also open to non-Veterans.
Ladies play each Wednesday and hold their annual Open Day in May ,and a charity day in September.
The Summerland Teams day is held each April. Teams from all over the
Northern Rivers District take part in this stroke event. Teams of five
are required with
the best four scores taken.
The Brown and Hurley Group of companies sponsor the Brown and Hurley Charity
Days, a two day event in the second week of November.
These events attract players from far afield including Victoria and
Queensland, and substantial amounts are raised for various local
charities.
