A NATURAL CLUB
Woodburn-Evans Head is a wonderful friendly country course which offers its share of challenges, with tree-lined fairways and interesting greens.
Since the last Classic, the Club Board has continued its policy of upgrading the greens. This year, the 7/16 green was renovated with additional swales and turfed with 328. The grass trees planted in recent years at 150 metres and 100 metres, mark out the distances from the green.
Native wildlife provide another attractive feature of the course, with sightings of
koalas and wallabies a regular occurrence. The bird life is abundant.
The club is keenly appreciative of the assistance given to the Greenkeeper by Members who generously donate their time to present the course in the best possible condition at all times. This generosity is typical of the spirit prevailing in our club.

TOURING POINTS
Evans Head is a delightful place renowned for its prawn trawling and fishing. It also has one of the best surfing beaches on the north coast, and hence is a very popular summer resort and winter retreat.
for people from the southern states. The Silver Sands Caravan Park which becomes home to many visitors, is one of the largest in New South Wales. Woodburn has a long tradition of water skiing on
the Richmond River, and had the first water ski club in New South Wales (nearby Coraki had the second). It still caters for the sport and also offers good fishing. Other local attractions include unique nature reserves and national parks.
