Junior Golf

The NRDGA conducts a series of Junior Open Days throughout the year. Currently 14 NRDGA Clubs host Junior Open Days and they generally offer a range of 18 hole, 9 hole and 5 hole "modified" golf to suit all skill levels.  The NRDGA also assists Juniors with sponsorships to various NSW and International competitions.

Ballina Junior Masters

The Ballina Junior Masters incorporating the Junior Golf Queensland Greg Norman Junior Masters Qualifier will be held on Sunday 15th and Monday 16th April at Ballina Golf Club.

Conor Whitelock wins NRDGA Junior Championship

Byron Bay’s Conor Whitelock is the NRDGA Junior Champion after shooting a fine 70 at Murwillumbah yesterday. Whitelock and Alex Hunt (Murwillumbah) could not be separated after 18 holes. Conor and Alex then entered a sudden death playoff with the result decided on the second hole where a par was enough for Conor to take victory.

Lismore Workers Golf Club Easter Tournament

The Lismore Easter Tournament will be held at Lismore Workers Golf Club on Friday 30th and Saturday 31st March.

The defending champion is Matt Crandell from Byron Bay, who shot 141 (1 over par) to win the Easter Tournament last year and also the NRDGA Championship. The 2017 runner up was Jay Mackenzie on 143, with the 36 hole net event being won by Lismore’s Shayne Smith on 138.

New Life Member Elected

Ian Armour was elected as a Life Member of the Northern Rivers District Golf Association at the Annual General Meeting of the Association on Sunday 11th February.

Ian has been an active member of the NRDGA organisation for over 20 years. Initially representing the Murwillumbah Golf Club as a delegate in 1997, Ian was elected to the NRDGA Junior Golf Committee in 2001.
