Ian Armour was elected as a Life Member of the Northern Rivers District Golf Association at the Annual General Meeting of the Association on Sunday 11th February.

Ian has been an active member of the NRDGA organisation for over 20 years. Initially representing the Murwillumbah Golf Club as a delegate in 1997, Ian was elected to the NRDGA Junior Golf Committee in 2001.

Continuing in that role, Ian was also elected to the position of NRDGA JPO in 2005 and held that position until 2009. During this period, Ian was often asked to give up family time and annual leave to take a mini bus to the Jack Newton International Junior Golf event in the Hunter Valley. Ian ultimately took on that task for 10 consecutive years.

During the period 2008 to 2010, Ian officiated in the dual roles of NRDGA Vice President and JPO and was ultimately elected NRDGA President in 2011. In the 3 years to 2013, Ian continued in the President’s position which included multiple trips to Sydney as the Golf NSW Councillor for the Northern Rivers District.

In the period 2014 to 2017, Ian took primary responsibility as the NRDGA Website Co-ordinator and Publicity Officer.

In 2018 Ian has volunteered to keep the NRDGA webpage updated.
