Ballina – Results, OOM Update and Updated 9 Hole H’caps
Posted on: 18 April
In what turned out to be the largest event conducted in the NRDGA so far this season. almost 170 juniors participated in the Ballina Junior Open Day. Whilst the weather was a bit iffy, everyone seemed to enjoy the course, the hospitality and the brilliant way in which Dale and Heath from JNJG conducted the event.
On Sunday we had great fields for both the 5 hole (15 starters) and the 9 hole events (26 starters). The best gross score in the 5 hole event was recorded by Duke Matthews (Ballina) and all players received reward for their efforts. The 9 hole boys competition was a hard fought affair and with players hitting off the white tees, the scores were reflective of a tough day for many. However, Jack Pache (CTH) with 46 hits played really well to win the Gross event. Liam Houston (CTH) took out the net division being one of only 3 boys to beat their handicap, The 9 hole girls competition was won by Kortni Houston (CTH) with 49 hits to win the best gross score. We were also pleased to welcome a number of players from Queensland locations playing in the 9 hole event. In particular, our thanks to the KDV Group for encouraging so many of their players to participate in the NRDGA events.
