Yamba – Updated OOM and 9 Hole Adjusted Handicaps

Posted on: 1 October

Another wonderful day at Yamba Golf & Country Club with the weather fine and an early start for some on their way to the Hunter Valley for the big JNJG International event.

Kortni Houston (CTH) was again in form in the 9 hole Girls event with a great score of 51 to win the Gross event.  The wonderful turnout from the Grafton District Golf Club saw one of their girls win the 9 hole Net event.  Hannah Blundell will lose a couple of shots off her handicap after a net 28 won Hannah the 9 hole Girls net event.  After 3 competitive rounds in the NRDGA OOM competition, Lexie Mueller (KDV) is now a fully fledged member of the NRDGA Tour and starts with an impressive handicap of 20.

Whilst Jack Pache (CTH) seems to be the outstanding player in the Boys 9 hole division, he had his colours lowered by Callum Wines (CTH) on Sunday.  Callum’s score of 47 off the stick was good enough to hold off Jack by 3 shots.  Rowan Rekhy (Murbah) will lose another 2 shots off his handicap after another fine round of net 24.

A fantastic round of 75 by Ethan Walker (Coraki) was good enough to win the Boys Junior Open title.  Six shots better than his handicap indicates that Yamba will be locked in as one of Ethan’s favourite layouts.  An equally impressive round of net 67 by William Thorogood (CTH) was good enough to win the Boys net division from the consistent Zane Lowe (Yamba).

Hollie Fuller (Grafton) was again the standout player in the Girls Junior Open event winning comfortably from Francheska Payne (Ballina).  However, Francheska was not left empty handed as her net 72 was good enough to win the Junior Girls net division.
