NRDGA Championship 2025

The Ballina Golf Club hosted the 2025 NRDGA Championships on Sunday under perfect sunny skies, creating ideal conditions (considering recent weather events) for some outstanding golf across all divisions.

The standout of the day was Nathan Streckfuss (Coraki), who claimed the NRDGA Champion Gross title with a brilliant round of 66. He was followed by Brad Oliss (Ballina) on 69 as runner-up, and Ben Adams (Ocean Shores) in third with 72. In the Seniors, Rob Carson (Ballina) took the honours with 72, edging out Monte Fairhall (Ballina) on 75.

The Nett competitions were fiercely contested across three divisions. In Division 1, Adam Rose (Ballina) won with 70 on countback, narrowly ahead of Kurt Freeman (Ballina) also on 70. Noah Adey (Iluka) and Shaun Rose (Ballina) finished close behind on 71. Division 2 saw Rhett Patrick (Ballina) card an excellent 68 to secure victory, with Eli Kenyon (Ballina) second on 69 and a tight pack behind including Gary Bourke (Ocean Shores) on 70. Division 3 honours went to Dennis Corrigan (Ballina) with 69, with four players hot on his heels—Hudson Blake, Mark May, Dylan Wilson, and Craig Austen—all within two shots.

It was a fantastic championship, showcasing the region’s golfing depth and Ballina’s superb presentation of the course in trying conditions. A special mention to Chris Hawkins for his help and organisation making for a very smooth and well run day.
