2025 Northern Rivers Junior Golf Tour – Season Wrap-Up

What a fantastic year it’s been for the Northern Rivers Junior Golf Tour!
After 15 tournaments across some of the region’s most beautiful courses, our season wrapped up in style at Byron Bay Golf Club, where perfect conditions and a thrilling finish capped off another incredible year of junior golf.

Byron Bay – The Grand Finale

Despite a record of 10 players withdrawing last-minute on the morning of the event (and a quick reshuffle on the tee sheet!), the show went on without a hitch. The impeccably presented Byron Bay course left players wanting more, prompting some to head back out for extra holes after the round ended.

With over 50 players in action, the final event had everything — sunshine, great sportsmanship, and some seriously good golf.

18 Hole Division – A Playoff to Remember

The 18-hole division came down to a tense playoff between Noah Adey and Tana Lowe, after both finished their rounds at 6 over par.

Learning from his earlier mistake on the 18th (when his drive found the water), Noah took the smart play off the tee in the playoff, laying up safely and setting himself up perfectly for his approach.
A calm second shot onto the green left him a long, quick putt — and in front of a growing crowd, Noah drained a fast 10-metre downhill putt for birdie to seal the victory!

Meanwhile, Oliver Neilson had the round of his life, smashing his handicap with a 9-under Nett score to claim the Nett Champion title of the day. Outstanding golf!

The 18-hole Order of Merit remained hotly contested all year, but in the end, it was Noah Adey who proved too strong, claiming the Gross OOM title, while Savanna Abel showed equal consistency and composure to secure the Nett division.

9 Hole Division – New Winners and Strong Finishes

The 9-hole division saw some fantastic competition as well, with Hugo Smith edging out Fred Allen for the Gross win, while George Hayden celebrated his first Nett victory of the season — a great way to end the year!

After a few quieter events mid-season, the 9-hole finale saw an awesome turnout of 20 players, setting the stage for even more growth in 2026.

In the season-long Order of Merit, Jett Robinson claimed the Gross title, while Beau Baker held on to the Nett crown despite missing the last four events — an impressive achievement!

5 Hole Division – Consistency and Commitment

In the 5-hole division, Ryker made it two wins in a row to finish the season strong.

A special shout-out goes to Jamie and Kai, the only two players who competed in both the first event at Coraki and the final at Byron — a fantastic show of consistency and dedication!

Huge thanks also to Paul and Wendy and the Maclean crew for their ongoing support and for helping make this tour possible for our youngest golfers. While no one managed to play every event, the enthusiasm and participation across the 5-holers was brilliant all year long.

Order of Merit – Season Summary

Just four events ago, the Order of Merit race was still wide open — but as the season reached its final stretch, a few players found top gear and pulled clear to secure their divisions in style.

Despite a challenging year filled with wet weather, course closures, and even a cyclone, our amazing Northern Rivers golf clubs came together to make it happen.
Through flexibility, teamwork, and a lot of rescheduling, we didn’t miss a single event — in fact, we even added one! That’s a huge credit to everyone involved.
