Junior Golfers Tee Off the Season in Style at Coraki Golf Club!
Coraki, NSW – February 22, 2026 – The Northern Rivers Junior Tour launched with a bang at the welcoming Coraki Golf Club, and despite a few sneaky no-shows trying to rain on the parade, the vibes were sky-high and the scores were even higher!
A cracking field of over 50 young guns turned up ready to swing, chip, and putt their way to glory. Sure, a handful of last-minute bailers left some gaps in the tee sheet (come on, folks—send a quick text! Golf’s all about etiquette, respect, and not leaving your playing partners hanging like a bad lag putt. Plus, heaps of awesome volunteers pour their time into making these days epic—don’t let a few bad manners spoil the fun!).
But enough of the etiquette lecture—let’s talk winners!
In the main event, Jack Davy is clearly on fire and refusing to cool down. The Ballina GC star carded a solid **1-over par** to claim the top spot and keep his hot streak rolling. Fresh off last week’s eye-popping 67 – is that 6 7 🤷♂️ (that’s 5-under gross, people—read it and weep!), Jack’s proving he’s the one to beat early in the season.
The girls weren’t about to let the boys have all the spotlight. Stella Payne stepped up big time with a classy 3-over par round, flying the flag high and showing why she’s a force on the Northern Rivers junior scene.
And talk about a handicap heater—Savanna Abel‘s handicap is dropping faster than my confidence after a 3 putt! Another commanding win for Savanna in the Nett division—she’s making consistency look easy and racking up the silverware like it’s going out of style. Keep it up, Savanna!
Over in the 9-hole division, Cooper was the undisputed boss of the day. He dominated both the Gross and Nett leaderboards, kicking off his Order of Merit campaign with serious style points. Watch this space—this kid’s got game! And well done to Kaan for winning the 9 hole Nett prize!
The 5-hole crew brought the fun in numbers too, with a fantastic turnout of 10 little rippers tearing around the course, laughing, learning, and loving every minute. Pure junior golf joy!
Big shoutout to Coraki Golf Club for hosting a cracker of a kick-off event—the course was in mint condition, the atmosphere electric, and the next generation of Aussie golfers is looking seriously promising.
Roll on the rest of the tour— these kids are just getting warmed up! 🏌️♂️🏌️♀️⛳
