Ocean Shores Shines Despite the Rain – Big Turnout for Event 2

Event 2 of the season headed to the beautiful Ocean Shores Golf Club and once again delivered a fantastic day of junior golf, even with the rain looming. A big thank you goes to Chris Graham and his team for running another outstanding event. Despite the showers around the region, the day managed to dodge the worst of it and play continued.

The QLD girls, Anna Chen (Brisbane GC) and Catherine Sun (Sanctuary Cove) stole the spotlight in the 18-hole division with some superb scoring. Posting rounds of 2-under and 1-under par, they set the pace for the day and showed the field how it’s done.

The standout performance, however, belonged to Ivy Nasorowale, who produced the round of her life to dominate the 18-hole Nett division, putting together an exceptional score and leaving the rest of the field chasing.

The 9-hole Gary Ridge Gross event was one of the closest contests of the day. In a tight battle, Bianca Budiman and local player Cooper Arthur finished tied, with Bianca edging ahead on a countback to take the win. In the Nett division, Bradley James played steady golf to secure the victory.

The 5-hole division also saw a great turnout, with plenty of young players enjoying the course. Eden claimed the win, capping off a great effort and a fun introduction to competitive golf.

Overall, it was another fantastic day for junior golf, with great numbers, impressive scores, and plenty of smiles despite the occasional rain shower. A huge thanks again to Ocean Shores Golf Club and Chris Graham’s team for hosting such a well-run event. We’re ready for the next one at Murwillumbah.
