And you can view each event’s results and Order of Merit points after each event in the Junior News section.
Eligibility
All juniors under 18 are welcome to compete — you don’t need to be from the Northern Rivers region to enter.
5 hole, 9 hole and 18 hole category.
18 holes need a Golf Australia ID, i.e. an official 18 hole handicap.
GNR-Specific Events
Some events are exclusive to GNR-affiliated clubs:
- The Junior Northern Rivers Championship – Held each September, this is a 36-hole, two-day event for 18-hole players.
- Order of Merit (OOM) – A year-long competition for both 18-hole and 9-hole divisions, with points awarded at each event.
Order of Merit – How It Works
Eligibility for Points (applies to 9 and 18 holes)
- Only players who are financial members of a GNR-affiliated club can earn points.
- Players who belong to multiple clubs are eligible if they have paid full-year affiliation fees to a GNR club.
Points Allocation
All GNR events count toward the OOM — missing an event means missing potential points, just like the FedEx Cup or DP World Tour rankings.
| Position | Points |

| 2nd | 8 |
| 3rd | 6 |

Point Scenario Examples
-
Two players tied for 3rd → average of 3rd & 4th = (6 + 5) ÷ 2 = 5.5 points each
-
Three players tied for 2nd → average of 2nd, 3rd & 4th = (8 + 6 + 5) ÷ 3 = 6.33 points each
-
If a non-GNR player wins, the highest finishing GNR player receives 10 points. The same adjustment applies throughout the top eight — NRDGA players are awarded points based on their relative finishing positions among eligible competitors.
This system rewards consistency and participation — the more events you play, the better your chances of climbing the GNR Junior Tour Order of Merit leaderboard.
