NRDGA Junior Championships Wrap Up in Style with Drama, PBs, and Playoff Heroics
Two days of stunning conditions provided the perfect stage for a thrilling finish to the 36-Hole NRDGA Junior Championships.
Annalese McKee showed nerves of steel and consistency under pressure, backing up her strong first round with a composed 2-over-par performance to win the second day by a single shot. Hot on her heels were both Noah Adey and Max Neal.
In the 18-hole Nett division, Chloe Baker fired a personal best to claim the title, edging out Stella Payne by just two strokes in another close contest.
The 9-hole event saw Hugo Smith of Royal Pines dominate the field, winning by six shots over runner-up Joel Mariconte—surely a sign he’s ready for the step up to 18 holes. Joel crushed the Nett division, finishing a remarkable 7 under his handicap.
And in a first for the 5-hole division, fans were treated to a thrilling playoff between Yamba locals Ryker Austin-Bull and Leo Corkill-Irving. With the pressure on, Ryker drove the green and sealed the win with a sensational 3, clinching victory in style on the first playoff hole.
From start to finish, the championships delivered everything—talent, tension, and terrific golf.
